Foxconn ready to build Apple TV
Manufacturing giant Foxconn are preparing to build the new Apple Television. According to China Daily company chief Terry Gou said that they are preparing to build the new Apple Television.
Gou held a news conference in Shanghai regarding their plans for the future. During the chat he let it slip that Foxconn are ready to start producing the Apple television which Steve Jobs mentioned before his death. China Daily added that “development or manufacturing has yet to begin”.
Gou would have insider knowledge of the development of such a critical product for Apple, but it is surprising that he would mention it in a conference as Apple are normally very strict about details of unreleased products. Apple have yet to even acknowledge the television.
Rumours have been circulating now for months that the upcoming high definition television will feature a camera for FaceTime and even have support for SIRI, the Apple assistant. Latest rumours would suggest that the set will have access to the Apple Store. Perhaps indicating internal storage.
Jobs spoke to Walter Isaacson in his biography saying “I’d like to create an integrated television set that is completely easy to use. It would be seamlessly synched with all of your devices and with iCloud. It will have the simplest user interface you could imagine. I finally cracked it.”
Tecnobitssays: There are no indications when production will start, although some sources claim it will be 2013.
Tenda Portable Wireless AP/Router W300M Review
Have you experienced the annoyance of booking into a hotel room only to find that it has one network socket in the corner of the room? Many people have probably already chosen their next hotel based on wireless internet connection support in all rooms. If you are one of these people then a portable wireless router device could be a good investment.
The Tenda W300M is a portable wireless router which can act as an access point allowing you to connect several wireless devices to the internet, or as a wireless repeater extending the range of the weak hotel wireless signal.
There are also three other functions which are combinations and variations of the previous two. This allows you to make use of this device in many different environments, whether at school, university, work, or conference halls.

On Strength of Kepler, Nvidia Eyes $1.05 Billion in Revenue for Fiscal 2013
Nvidia President and Chief Financial Officer Jen-Hsun Huang gleefully indicated that “Kepler GPUs are accelerating our business” when reporting revenue of $924.9 million for the company’s first quarter of fiscal 2013 ended April 29, 2012. The irony there is that Kepler cards are in short supply and extremely difficult to find in stock, save for the GeForce GTX 670, which just went on sale yesterday. But despite GPU shortages (courtesy of TSMC’s inability to produce chips fast enough), Nvidia was able to best analysts’ expectations.
Looking ahead to the full year, Nvidia forecasts revenue to be between $990 and $1.05 billion.
“Our newly launched desktop products are winning some of the best reviews we’ve ever had. Notebook GPUs had a record quarter. And Tegra is on a growth track again, driven by great mobile device wins and the upcoming Windows on ARM launch,” Huang said. “Graphics is more important than ever. Look for exciting news next week at the GPU Technology Conference as we reveal new ways that the GPU will enhance mobile and cloud computing.”
Even though Nvidia’s Kepler launch has been hampered by short supply, the entire family of GPUs (GTX 670, 680, and 690) are receiving mostly positive reviews and should end up selling well once they’re actually available. If that’s the case, Nvidia can look forward to a strong year from a financial standpoint.

LG to produce unbreakable flexible OLED displays
While flexible OLED displays are most attributed to Samsung, fellow Korean company LG are also planning to bring flexible OLED displays to mobile devices with their new display production line. While it may seem LG is stealing Samsung’s idea, LG is apparently using a different production process.
Even the average watch will become smarter with flexible OLED displays
In order to achieve this LG is preparing a 3.5-Gen OLED plant that will be able to pump out displays with plastic substrates, which puts the flexible in front of flexible OLED. Saying this, we may not see fully flexible phones and other devices for some time. Instead the flexible displays will be will be thinner, more durable and less prone to impact than current glass based displays. The flexible OLED display could also end the need for Corning’s Gorilla Glass on phones.
The $176 million production line will be able to produce displays that are “unbreakable” once the line gets the green light for operation towards the end of the year.

Windows 8 Tablets Slated for November, HP is Raring to Go
An un-named source “familiar with the device makers’ plans” told CNet that the first wave of such tablets will show up in stores in November. The source described the schedule as being “tight” and that Windows 8 mobile devices won’t be limited to strictly tablets, but over half of the “more than a dozen” models will be hybrid devices that function as both a notebook and a tablet.
Each Windows 8 device, whether it be a full-blown tablet or a convertible, will run Intel’s Clover Trail Atom platform, which will be the chip maker’s first dual-core Atom design built on a 32nm manufacturing process. A single-core version of Clover Trail will be used in smartphones.
